Family Specialist - Full Time
Connections – Serving Sand Springs and Surrounding Areas
Position Overview:
SSH Connections Family Specialist provides support for foster families, ensuring they are equipped, encouraged, and compliant with all state and agency requirements. This role involves regular home visits, ongoing training and guidance, and collaboration with DHS and other community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and mentor foster families through regular home visits, phone calls, and check-ins.
Ensure all licensing requirements and documentation are maintained in compliance with DHS and agency standards.
Advocate for the needs of children in care, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support.
Work collaboratively with caseworkers, community partners, and agency staff to promote the well-being of children in placement.
Maintain accurate and timely records of family progress and case activity.
Participate in the agency’s on call rotation to provide after-hours support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with children and families, preferably in foster care or child welfare.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
